有时看到系动词 smell 后面接介词 like，有时接介词 of，它们有不同吗？
smell后接of，表示“有……的味道”。如：
Themeat smells of garlic. 这肉有大蒜的气味。
Thehouse still smells of paint. 屋里仍有油漆味。
Thetrash smells of fish. 这堆垃圾闻着有股鱼腥味。
smell后接like，表示“闻起来像……”。如：
Itsmells like musk. 它闻起来像麝香。
Itsmells like rotten eggs. 这闻起来像臭鸡蛋。
Itsmells like a hospital in here. 这儿闻起来仿佛医院似的。
另外，在非正式文体中like 有时用作连词，后接从句。如：
Themilk smells like it’s going bad. 牛奶闻起来仿佛变质了。
但在英国英语中，有时也用smell like来表示“闻起来有……味道。如：
Her breathsmelled of / like garlic. 她的气息里有股蒜味。
